Australian National Council of Orff-Schulwerk
Time until PINNACLE 2025
Showcasing a wide variety of presenters from Australia and abroad, PINNACLE 2025 will offer innovative discussions and networking opportunities, all while engaging delegates in music making through moving, singing and playing instruments, the Orff way.
PINNACLE 2025 will explore teaching pedagogies and research within music education and delve into the Orff-Schulwerk that is considered new, emerging or best practice, with the goal to explore what is happening at the peak of music education.
PINNACLE 2025 is proud to announce Wolfgang Hartman (Germany), Estêvão Marques (Brazil) and Robyn Staveley (NSW, Australia) as the APEX Key Presenters.
Wolfgang Hartmann is a highly experienced and regarded music educator, lecturer and presenter, having studied at the University of Wurzburg and the Orff Institute, Salzburg.
His previous appointments include Director of Music at Carinthian State Conservatory (Klagenfurt), Lecturer at the Music University (Vienna) and the Orff Institute (Salzburg), visiting Professor at the Conservatory of Music (Shanghai) and the Central Conservatory (Beijing) and teacher at Musikene (Spain). Wolfgang has developed music education programs at Orff Modellschulen in Munich Bayerischer Rundfunk, the same radio station where Orff and Keetman first presented the Orff-Schulwerk and has presented Orff-Schulwerk workshops in more than 30 countries.
Estêvão Marques is an artist, teacher, and researcher rooted in the Brazilian tradition, combining songs, musical instruments, dances, and stories in a creative way.
He is a teacher at the “International Orff Course San Francisco, USA” and the “Orff-Schulwerk Certification Course in Spain”. Estêvão shares his knowledge about children’s games, music, and his own playful pedagogy in courses around the world: Brazil, Austria, United States, Turkey, Colombia, Uruguay, Netherlands, Portugal, Hong Kong, Italy, Germany, Thailand, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Taiwan, Spain, Argentina, and Australia.
He is the author of more than 20 books on art and education and the Director of the online course “Educando pela Brincadeira”. He has played with groups of great importance in the music scene, such as “Palavra Cantada”, “Chico César”, “Grupo Triii”, “Antônio Nobrega”, and the group “Barbatuques”.
Robyn is a teacher, lecturer, presenter and researcher. She has been involved in Orff Schulwerk organisations, committees and training for over 30 years. From her many years teaching music to children from pre-school to upper secondary, and then teaching in universities, she became fascinated in cognitive neuroscience and how humans learn, and especially, the implications for teaching. Robyn’s sessions and workshops are designed to lead participants through experiences that embody musical learning, then reflect on the neuroscience that underpins the practice.
